Missing an X

“Missing an X” is a heartfelt and informative awareness piece developed to shed light on Turner Syndrome, a condition caused by the absence of one X chromosome in females. The film brings together the voices of four girls and a mother-daughter duo, each sharing their personal experience with honesty, warmth and strength. It’s an empowering message that shows Turner Syndrome doesn’t define you. Through subtle movement, soft textures and a carefully balanced visual tone, the piece captures both the emotional weight of the diagnosis and the hope that comes with early intervention and ongoing support.

Produced for Pfizer in collaboration with Fourleaf, our goal was to create a film that offers reassurance and visibility, using real stories to connect with audiences and help foster greater awareness and understanding around Turner Syndrome.

Visual language

Each frame is carefully composed to balance vulnerability with quiet resilience. Soft lighting and minimal palettes create a visual language that supports without overpowering. The presence of real individuals adds emotional depth, allowing the viewer to connect intimately with each story. The result is a gentle yet empowering backdrop that honours both the message and the people behind it.
